The Wisdom Series Collection (2022-2023)
Solomon was the son of King David, the third king of Israel, and the wisest and wealthiest man who ever lived. He ruled over the Golden Age of Israel, when the nation lived in peace and prosperity, when the glorious Temple was constructed, and when people from distant lands travelled to Israel just to hear his wisdom and to see his wealth for themselves. And Solomon was also the writer of three books of the Bible - Song of Solomon, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes. You will enjoy following Solomon’s story in his youth, at the height of his reign, and in his old age. And along the way, you'll learn a lot about life, and about yourself.
Here Comes The Bride - Song of Solomon
It is one of the most unique books in the Bible, and also one of the most disputed and difficult books to understand. At one point, it even looked like Song of Solomon might be excluded from the canon of Holy Scripture because of its frank descriptions of sexual love. But the Jews have always revered this book, and they still read it every year during the feast of Passover, because they understand it to be an allegory of the love between Jehovah and Israel. As New Testament Christians, we understand this little book on an even deeper level to be an allegory of the love between Christ and His bride, the church. It’s beautiful and powerful. Join us as we study the Song of Solomon and open our hearts to our heavenly Bridegroom!
Life Hacks - Proverbs
The phrase “Life Hack” has crept into the English language so much over the last few years, that now the dictionary even includes a definition: “An action that solves a problem, simplifies a task, or reduces frustration in one’s everyday life; a shortcut.” Wouldn’t it be wonderful if God Himself would give us a Life Hacks manual, to help us negotiate the twists and turns of life, to help us make better decisions, to give us a better vantage point on our circumstances, and to help us please Him better? Well, the good news is He has, and we call it the book of Proverbs. It is full of strategies and skills that will definitely reduce frustration, solve problems, and simplify your life. Join us as we learn together how to do life better!
A Pessimist’s Guide to the Universe - Ecclesiastes
Most suicide notes throb with the questions that Solomon asks in Ecclesiastes. It surprises people when this book says things you would never expect to read in the Bible. Even though it’s not always easy to follow, and it can be difficult to interpret, Ecclesiastes resonates with us because it’s the story of a man who spent so much of his time, energy and resources trying to find happiness, but ended up feeling like he had missed the most important things in his life. Solomon is a man of unprecedented power and influence, unusual wealth and wisdom, and unparalleled accomplishment and experience. But because everything he has experienced has ultimately just made him feel more empty, he has now become the ultimate pessimist. Join us as we discover the real meaning of life with the wisest man who ever lived.
