The book of Joshua contains the familiar account of a new generation entering into the territory that God had promised to their elders many years before. Along the way, they encounter enemies, fight battles, conquer cities, build altars and make mistakes – and each step (or misstep) becomes a valuable lesson for us as we engage in spiritual warfare today. As he leads his people to inherit the land, Joshua learns that the battle belongs to the Lord. But he also discovers that to move forward in the face of opposition and obstacles requires consistent decisions and constant determination on our part.
